Ty Herndon’s 2017 Concert For Love and Acceptance, hosted by Cody Alan, has added more talent to its already stellar lineup. In addition to Ty Herndon, Billy Gilman, Kree Harrison, Ryan Kinder, Runaway June, Lorrie Morgan, Michael Ray, Street Corner Symphony, and Thompson Square, the concert will also include performances by Trent Harmon and Mickey Guyton. In addition, critically acclaimed comedian Dana Goldberg is also set to appear, making her Nashville debut. The event, created to support at-risk youth, is set for Thursday, June 8 starting at 7 p.m. at Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, Tenn.

Interesting story via The Verge with the headline: “Can country music save Pandora?” that is worth a read! 13-year old sensation Tegan Marie will present at this weekend’s Radio Disney Awards! Love And Theft are preparing to travel overseas to entertain Sailors serving abroad with the U.S. Navy. The duo, in partnership with Navy Entertainment, will perform a series of shows later this spring.
Congrats to Keith Urban on “Ripcord” going Platinum! Keith is one of only two country artists whose 2016 album release was certified platinum by the RIAA. RIPCORD also places him as the second country artist (amongst artists with nine or more platinum releases) to currently have every album certified platinum or multi-platinum. This platinum streak of nine also places Keith at #8 on the all-time list of country artists with consecutive platinum albums.
The Country Music industry came together Wednesday evening to honor 31 music educators as the 2017 CMA Music Teachers of Excellence. Little Big Town hosted the event at Nissan Stadium, honoring music educators and their indelible impact on students and school communities through the power of music. The program was created in partnership with Metro Schools’ “Music Makes Us” initiative, which was formed as a result of a 2015 study that highlighted the challenges of local music teachers. In addition to LBT,country artists and songwriters Kix Brooks, Chase Bryant, Kristian Bush, Lindsay Ell, Seth Ennis, David Fanning, Chelsea Gill, Hunter Hayes, Olivia Lane, Dustin Lynch, Scotty McCreery, William Michael Morgan, Jerrod Niemann, and Corey Smith were in attendance.
WITH A TWIST
Opry Entertainment, together with Opry member group Little Big Town, took friends and family to the “boondocks” earlier this week to celebrate the debut of their exclusive artist-curated merchandise line. The line, which features a collection inspired by lyrics in Little Big Town’s hit song, “Boondocks,” is part of a larger retail collaboration between Opry Entertainment and the CMA/ACM Vocal Group of the year. Three additional collections, each inspired by Little Big Town’s music, will be announced throughout the year.
